SWITZ CITY — Gretchen P. Bray, 83, passed away Tuesday at Lyons Health and Living Center. Born June 22, 1929, in Greene County, she was the daughter of Carl Dexter and Agnes (Flater) Pearson. Gretchen worked at REMC for 19 years in customer service. Surviving relatives include her five daughters, Anita (Jim) Smith of Cloverdale, Melea (Jim) Sanders of Switz City, Deborah (Rick) Bowersock of Worthington, Marlita (Tom Robbins) Chambers of Spencer and Sherrill Prewett (Jeff) Brown of Washington; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Ann Bray of Owensburg. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Bray, whom she married on Jan. 3, 1985; one brother, Carl Dexter Pearson; and her parents. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon Thursday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
