WASHINGTON — Junior Dellinger, 83, of Washington and formerly of Elnora, died at 4:29 p.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Hospital. Born April 10, 1929, in Daviess County, he was the son of Leroy and Emma (Shake) Dellinger. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked at Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane from 1963 to 1990. He was a member of Elnora Christian Church and Elnora V.F.W., American Legion and Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Cates) Dellinger; two sons, Michael Cornett and wife Marcella of Viper, Ky., and Dale Cornett and wife Rita of Washington; one daughter, Denise Cornett Justice and husband Jay of Washington; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and beloved nieces and nephews, Sharon Dellinger Eaton and husband Don of Washington, Paula Dellinger Long of Elnora, Richie Carnegie of Tennessee, and Chuck Arney and wife Darlene of Elnora. He is preceded in death by four brothers, five sisters and one grandson. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fairview Cemetery, with Bro. Richard Smith officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being made through Poindexter-McClure Funeral Home.
