Pancake, Miller make All-Big 8 team

WASHINGTON — Washington’s Matthew Pancake and Lucas Miller have been named to the All-Big 8 tennis team.

They are joined by: Logan Mathies, Will Seger, Noah Moss, Eli Seng and Grant Weaver, Jasper; Roos Canada and Jevin Redman, Mount Vernon; and Cody Deffendoll.

Washington placed third in the Big 8, following Jasper and Mount Vernon. Princeton, Boonville and Vincennes Lincoln completed the conference standings.

Tyler Stoll joined Pancake as members of the All-District 5 team. Sixty-four schools compose the district, with eight teams named.

“Matthew and Tyler were 15-3 together,” Washington coach Jason Johnston said. “Tyler was 17-4, while Matthew was 16-4. To be at the top of any sport requires hard work and dedication.”
