WASHINGTON — Lighthouse to hold coat drive

Lighthouse Recovery Center/Victory Tabernacle is sponsoring a coat, hat and glove drive to be distributed Saturday, Oct. 20, at Victory Tabernacle, 1419 W. Walnut St., Washington.

They are asking for donations of coats, gloves and hats, especially for young people, and all donations are welcome and appreciated.

Drop off all donations at 311 E. Main St. in Washington (Ladies Lighthouse).

Christmas Child begins again

It is time once again to fill Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes. If your church or organization needs boxes to fill, you can pick them up at the Washington Free Methodist Church, 1155 Troy Road.

These boxes are called “GO Boxes” for “Gospel Opportunity.” There is a transportation charge of $5 per 100 boxes.

Office hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Jamestown pet pic day Saturday

Jamestown Square Apartments will host a pet picture day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Bring your furry best friend for fun and photos.

Because certain breeds do not adjust well in social setting, no pitbulls, dobermans, rotweilers, akitas or chows.
