WASHINGTON — Reading roundtable to meet

Carnegie Public Library invites you to participate in our reading roundtable. This group will meet once a month to share what you are reading with others and gain insight into your fellow patrons’ opinions on new and old books.

Meeting will be Monday, at 6:30 p.m. in the small reading room. For more information, call 254-4586.

Boil order issued by DCRW

Daviess County Rural Water is issuing a precautionary boil order for customers on CR 75E, south of Fountain View Church and customers on CR 150S, west of the U.S. 50 Bypass.

DCH board to meet Thursday

The Board of Trustees of Daviess Community Hospital will meet in executive session at 8:30 a.m. Thursday. The open session will be at 9:30 a.m.

SAFS activities for the week

Monday— Prairie Village biscuits and gravy 8:30 a.m.; bingo 10 a.m.; Enhance Fitness 2:30 p.m.

Tuesday — Computer Lessons 9 a.m.-11 a.m.; Movie & Snack 9:30 a.m.

Friends for        Animals meeting

The monthly meeting of Friends for Animals will be at 6 p.m. Monday at the Washington Carnegie Public Library, 300 W. Main St. Everyone is invited to attend.

Early voting to begin

Early voting in person for the Nov. 6 General Election will begin in the office of the Circuit Court Clerk on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Voting will continue Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until noon Monday, Nov. 5. Voters will need to show an Indiana Driver’s License, an Indiana I.D. Card, a U.S. Passport, or other photo I.D. issued by the State of Indiana or the U.S. government.

The clerk’s office, located on the top floor of the courthouse, will also be open Saturday, Oct. 17, and Saturday, Nov. 3, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for those voters who cannot make it to the office during regular hours.

Persons requiring a ballot be mailed to them, or need ing assistance to vote should contact the voter registration office at 254-8679.

The Washington Carnegie Public Library will offer the following youth programs during the month of October. Call 254-4586 for more information or to register for any programs.

Lego Fun @ Library

Oct. 4 Time: 4:15 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Ages: 6 years and older

Bring your families and friends to build, create and have fun around a monthly theme. Donations of Legos welcomed.   Registration not required.

 Toddler Time

Oct. 5, 19, 26  Time: 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Ages: 2-3 year olds

Children and parents come along and join the fun. Enjoy stories, rhymes, songs, and craft focused on different themes each week. Sign up for the month of special story times with your little one. Registration is required.

 Lapsit Rhyme Time

Oct. 11, 18, 21 Time: 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Ages: 6 to 18 month olds with caregiver

These programs will be entertaining for the children and instructive for parents and caregivers. Developmental tips related to activities, stories and rhyme will be presented. Early literacy skills will be highlighted.  Signup is required and space is limited.
