Tanker overturns

Police Report

WASHINGTON — CITY REPORT

Tuesday

11:04 p.m. - Sgt. Derrick Devine and K-9 Diesel were requested in Odon, where Diesel indicated and paraphernalia was located.

10:00 p.m. - Ptl. Buck Seger stopped to check on a hole in the road at S. Meridian Street and Highland Avenue. Gravel was in the hole and a metal grate covered it, but Seger advised more gravel was needed and the grate needed to be put back in place or a barricade needed to be erected.

A Water Department employee responded and put the grate back in place.

7:48 p.m. - Larry Grove reported his vehicle had been keyed while parked at the CSX relay building on S.W. 11th Street. The 2005 Ford Taurus had several scratches on the hood.

7:33 p.m. - A caller reported a male subject hitting a female outside Center and S.E. Seventh streets. An officer located the subjects and noted the female had red marks on her neck, but she stated the make did not touch her and she didn’t want to have charges filed.

7:23 p.m. - The Daviess County Sheriff’s Dispatch reported Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department was on the scene of a utility pole fire on CR 150W and advised the primary line came loose from the cross member and almost burned the cross member in two. A city line crew responded and was on the scene until 8:55 p.m.

4:14 p.m. - Britteny Cave, 203 W. Hefron St., reported the theft of a wallet from a 1996 Chevrolet Camaro parked in front of the residence during the overnight hours.

COUNTY REPORT

Tuesday

3:30 a.m. - A caller in Montgomery reported an alarm on one of his garage windows was activated. An officer advised the garage door was open, but everything checked OK.

COUNTY ACCIDENT

Tuesday

11:55 a.m. - Randall R. Hoe, 64, St. Petersburg, Fla., was westbound on U.S. 50 in a 2007 Peterbilt semi-tractor pulling a cargo tank full of a resin substance. As he turned left onto CR 300W in the rig, which is registered to Quality Carriers Inc., Joliet, Ill., the cargo in the tank shifted and the rig began to slide sideways. It turned over onto its right side, coming to rest in a shallow ditch on the southwest corner of the intersection. No injuries were reported and no cargo was spilled. Damage was estimated between $10,000 and $25,000.

ARREST

Joshua Sours,37,Odon,was arrested Tuesday by sheriff’s deputies on a writ of attachment.He was held at the Daviess County Security Center without bond.
