WASHINGTON — Robert Frank Cerveny, 82, of Washington, died at 1:10 p.m. Friday at his residence. Born March 13, 1930, in Washington, he was the son of Frank and Grace (Rosenberry) Cerveny. He had worked at B and O Shops, U.S. Railway, McCord Corp., and was a farmer and carpenter. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley L. (Fox) Cerveny, whom he married Dec. 31, 1959; two daughters, Suzanne Riggle and Carol (Jon) Ashby; one son, David (Jill) Cerveny; one granddaughter, Erin (Dustin) Cox; four grandsons, Brian (Janelle) Riggle, Michael Ashby, Dereck Ashby, and Garrett Ashby; three great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Brecklin Cox and Abigail Grace Riggle; five stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; one niece, Marie Psenski; and two nephews, Bob and Jim Elkins of Michigan. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Joe Elkins. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gill Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Harting officiating. Burial will be in New Veale Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.gillsince1872.com
