WASHINGTON — Karen (McGee) Hart, 64, of Washington, died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Washington Nursing Center. Born Nov. 2, 1948, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Wilma J. (Jones) and Bernard S. McGee Sr. A homemaker, she was a 1966 graduate of Washington High School. She is survived by two sons, Travis (Lee) Criswell and Justin Smith, both of Washington; a grandson, T.J. Criswell of Washington; and two brothers, Bernard S. (Patricia) McGee Jr. of Southaven, Miss., and Gary (Margee) McGee of Washington. Her husband, Chester Hart, died in 2007. Her parents; one daughter, Carrie J. Hart; and one brother, John W. McGee, are also deceased. Private family funeral services will be held. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Gill Funeral Home. Wrestlers for relay
The Team Todd Relay for Life team will be joining with Tri-State Wrestling to bring an event to the Old Petersburg Gym on Saturday. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with bell time at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 and children under 4 are free. All proceeds from the event go to the Daviess County Relay for Life Team Todd.

Monday night in Atlanta, Louisville won the school’s first National Championship since the year I was born - 1986. This accomplishment is significant to Indiana basketball fans, because the last two times the Cardinals cut down the nets (1980, 1986), the Hoosiers did it the following year. The stat, of course means nothing, other than both schools had strong programs in the 1980s.
