LOOGOOTEE — Lee Strange, 64, died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at his home. Born April 7, 1948, in Linton, he was the son of Gilbert and Ann (Pateman) Strange. He was a member of the Loogootee United Methodist Church and a graduate of St. Johns High School He was a U.S. Army and Navy veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a retired engineering technician at Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved being with his children and wife. He is survived by his wife, Becky (Summers) Strange, whom he married Dec. 27, 1975; his mother, Ann Strange of Odon; two sons, Matthew and wife Liz Strange of Fishers and Jacob and wife Shannon Strange of Loogootee; two sisters, Maryann Greene of Elnora and Becky Parsons of Odon. He is preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Strange, and one infant son, Gib Lee Strange on April 16, 1977. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Loogootee United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery in Loogootee, with military graveside rites being conducted by the American Legion and V.F.W. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the church. Wrestlers for relay
The Team Todd Relay for Life team will be joining with Tri-State Wrestling to bring an event to the Old Petersburg Gym on Saturday. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with bell time at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 and children under 4 are free. All proceeds from the event go to the Daviess County Relay for Life Team Todd.

IU still working towards sixth banner
Monday night in Atlanta, Louisville won the school’s first National Championship since the year I was born - 1986. This accomplishment is significant to Indiana basketball fans, because the last two times the Cardinals cut down the nets (1980, 1986), the Hoosiers did it the following year. The stat, of course means nothing, other than both schools had strong programs in the 1980s.

Mom delivered baby as tornado struck
Shayla Taylor was so far along in labor that her nurses at Moore Medical Center decided not to move her when Monday's tornado hit. They waited out the storm in an operating room, where the wall disappeared as the tornado hit the building.
