LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. — A Washington man wanted in connection of the attack of two teenage girls was arrested in Lawrenceville early Wednesday.

According to a release from the Washington Police Department, Daniel Westfall, 30, was taken into custody by Lawrenceville police and is awaiting extradition to Daviess County.

Westfall has been charged with multiple counts from the stabbing incident on Oct. 6 at 902 E. Walnut Street. He is charged with two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of battery resulting in serious bodily injury, two counts of battery by means of a deadly weapon, and a count of batter resulting in bodily injury.

According to reports from the scene and dispatch traffic, two girls were walking home from an event that night, and Westfall was allegedly stalking them.

When the girls reached the house, Westfall appeared. After a discussion, one of the girls who lives at the house asked him to leave. That is when Westfall allegedly brandish a knife and attack the girls.

Both girls were cut in the altercation in the face and neck area. They were taken to area hospitals where they were treated and released.

Westfall is also a registered sex offender from a 2007 arrest in Greene County for seven felony counts of child molesting in Daviess County.

He was sentenced in 2009 to a count of Class B felony child molesting, but has been in and out of court in connection with the conditions of his probation, according to court records.

It is not known when extradition will be granted against Westfall and he will be moved to Daviess County.
