WASHINGTON —
Edgar M. Fuller, 88, Washington, went to be with his Lord on Oct. 18, 2012. He was born in Broward County, Fla., to the late Roy James and Bernese (Newell) Fuller.
Edgar was a graduate of Bruceville High School and after that he went to serve his country. He was a World War II Navy Veteran with the 97th Navy Construction Battalion (Sec 1). Following his discharge from the service, he went to work at Naval Ammunition Depot, Crane, where he retired from in May of 1976. While at Crane he worked in several different capacities, roads and grounds, ordnance production including, actuating devices, mine fill, ROCKEYE and pyrotechnics.
Edgar was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman in both fishing and hunting and enjoyed most anything about being outdoors. He raised and trained beagles starting in 1946 until the mid 1970s. He was a Charter Member of the White River Valley Club. He also judged sanctioned field trials nationally and during his tenure finished 14 field champions and several state champions. He also enjoyed tournament bass fishing which began in the mid 1970s until 2010. He belonged to several fishing clubs, including Crane, Dogwood Bassmasters, and in 1980 was a charter member of the Indiana Non-Profit Bass Association which he helped to form. He also enjoyed gardening at home and grew several different types of roses.
Edgar was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Vivian M (Remmel) Fuller. Survivors include a sister, Helen Mae Rose, Indianapolis formerly of Vincennes, two step-sons, Richard Remmel (Rowena), Washington, Steven Remmel (Phyllis), Alfordsville; seven step-grandchildren, Tammy Sherotski (Michael), Scott Remmel (Christi), Brian Remmel, Aaron Remmel (Linda), Sabra Taylor (Robert), Nancy Jackson-Wilkins (John), Marietta Kendall; eighteen step-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Gill Funeral Home, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday with the funeral service at 10 a.m. Monday, also at the funeral home with Rev. Lennie Lawrence officiating.
The family requests donations be made to Christ United Methodist Church general fund or to the American Cancer Society.

IU still working towards sixth banner
Monday night in Atlanta, Louisville won the school’s first National Championship since the year I was born - 1986. This accomplishment is significant to Indiana basketball fans, because the last two times the Cardinals cut down the nets (1980, 1986), the Hoosiers did it the following year. The stat, of course means nothing, other than both schools had strong programs in the 1980s.
