There are still tickets available for the Daviess County Community Foundation Youth Council prime rib dinner on Satuday at Christ United Methodist Church, 104 N. Meridian St. Tickets are $30 per person and may be purchased from a youth council member or by contacting DCCF at 254-9354. If available, tickets will be sold at the door for $35.
Soup supper at St. Martin
St. Martin Catholic Church in Whitfield will hold its annual soup supper from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday with food, country store and quilt giveaway.
Fundraiser for Stutzman
There will be a fund raiser Sunday from 10:30 a.m. until food runs out at the Stop N’ Sea in Montgomery to help Hannah Stutzman further her education in South Africa. On the menu: barbecue pulled pork, baked beans and coleslaw. Cost is $6 per plate.
ND drama performance
The North Daviess High School Drama Club presents “Our Town” Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Shows will take place in the North Daviess High School cafetorium. Ticket cost will be $5 each and preschoolers will be admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult. Doors will open 30 minutes before show time. No video taping of any kind will be allowed.
Chili supper in Edwardsport
The First Baptist Church in Edwardsport will hold a chili supper fund raiser starting at 5 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under, and may be purchased from church members or at the door. Proceeds from the supper will go for major repair work to the church roof.
City offices to close Tuesday
All city offices and departments will be closed Tuesday for Election Day. There will be no trash pick up and the city bus will not be in operation. The recycling center will also be closed. Residents with trash pick up on Tuesday are asked to have their trash ready for pick up by 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Cub Scout food drive in ND area
On Saturday, the Cub Scouts of Pack 447 will be going door to door in Odon, Elnora and Plainville putting donation bags on door handles.
On Saturday, Nov. 10, place your nonperishable items in the donation bag on your front doorstep by 10 a.m. and the Cub Scouts will pick them up no later than noon.
Please, no outdated items.
If you would prefer to drop off your donation you may do so at the Elnora Christian Church between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Nov 10.
Your donation of canned and packaged foods will be distributed by the Elnora Christian Church to our neighbors in need.

Commissioners to meet
Daviess County Commissioners will meet in executive session at 8 a.m. Wednesday in the Commissioners’ Room at the courthouse to discuss litigation. A special meeting will follow at 9 a.m.
