WASHINGTON — Doreatha A. “Dee” Lashley, 83, of Washington, died at 12:50 a.m. Monday at Washington Nursing Center. Born June 10, 1929, in Evansville, she was the daughter of George William and Rose Jane (Gordon) Lashley. A 1947 graduate of Washington High School, she was also a graduate of Welborn Baptist School of Nursing. She was a nurse for 30 years at the veteran’s hospital in Indianapolis. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Fidelis Sunday school class, Eureka class, Rebekah Lodge, and the Get Together Homemaker Extension Club. She was an avid quilter and seamstress. She is survived by one sister, Margaret “Margie” Lashley of Washington; one brother and sister-in-law, John R. “Dick” and Jane Lashley of Washington; a nephew, John David (Laura) Lashley of Washington; nieces, Judy (John) Moore of Sullivan, and Rosie (Mike) Honaker of Washington; great-nieces and nephews, Damon and Magan Lashley, Brittany (Jacob) Clark, Whittany Hill, Kayla Hill, Nick (Alyssa) Honaker and Johnathan Honaker; great-great-nieces and nephews, Payton and Jaidyn Clark, Koen Andis, Kadalyn Bynum, Skylar and Taelyn Hill and Hailey Honaker. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William George Lashley. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gill Chapel, with Rev. Tim Baxter officiating.
