LOOGOOTEE — Mary “Miyoko” Wagoner, 86, died at 10:05 a.m., Thursday, at the Loogootee Nursing Center.

Born March 20, 1926, in Shimonoseki, Japan, she was the daughter of Masaichi and Ume (Hatanaka) Esomura.

She was a member of St. John Catholic Church She owned her own seamstress business for several years, and retired from Perfect Fit, Loogootee, after 43 years.

One of her favorite things to do was to cook Sunday dinner for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Denny Wagoner; Mike (Marcia); and Pat (Nikki); all of Loogootee; two daughters, Ruth (Martin) McRoberts, Bloomfield; and Brenda (Robert B.) Prather, Terre Haute; one daughter-in-law, Kim Wagoner Bateman, Loogootee; one brother, 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Her husband, John Earl Wagoner Jr, whom she married in 1948, died in 1991. Her parents, one son, Richard Wagoner, and granddaughter, Melissa Wagoner, and one daughter-in-law, Sharon Wagoner, and one brother are also deceased.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m., Monday, at St. John Catholic Church, Loogootee. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday, at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
