LOOGOOTEE — Mary “Miyoko” Wagoner, 86, died at 10:05 a.m. Oct. 18 at the Loogootee Nursing Center. Born March 20, 1926, in Shimonoseki, Japan, she was the daughter of Masaichi and Ume (Hatanaka) Esomura. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee. She owned her own seamstress business for several years, and retired from Perfect Fit, Loogootee, after 43 years. She enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid sports fan. One of her favorite things to do was to cook Sunday dinner for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by three sons, Denny Wagoner, Mike (Marcia) Wagoner, and Pat (Nikki) Wagoner, all of Loogootee; two daughters, Ruth (Martin) McRoberts of Bloomfield; and Brenda (Robert B.) Prather of Terre Haute; one daughter-in-law, Kim Wagoner Bateman of Loogootee; one brother; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Her husband, John Earl Wagoner Jr., whom she married in June 19, 1948, died in 1991. Her parents; one son, Richard Wagoner; one granddaughter, Melissa Wagoner; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Wagoner; and one brother are also deceased. Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Monday, at St. John Catholic Church, Loogootee. Visitation was from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
