Frankie Wint

TELL CITY — Frankie Z. Wint, 91, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.

Born Feb. 14, 1921, in Tell City, she was the daughter of Frank and Mayme (Haller) Ziegelgruber. Frankie was a 1939 graduate of Tell City High School and a 1940 graduate of Lockyear Business College. She had worked as a secretary for Tell City Chair Company.

Frankie was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school for 25 years and served on the church council. She enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards and dancing.

Surviving are her children, Tom (Marlene) Wint of New Albany, Ruthanne (Bill) Burkhart of Plainville and David (Gayle) Wint of West Bloomfield, Mich.; grandchildren, Nathan (Maedra) Wint, Eric (Jo) Wint, Jessica (Josh) Biven, Michael Wint and Blake (Courtney) Burkhart; and six great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Preston E. Wint, whom she married Nov. 27, 1947, preceded her in death in 1999. Also preceding her in death are her parents and sisters, Ruth Pieper and Hazel Nave.

A funeral service for Frankie was at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Thompson officiating. Visitation was from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
