WASHINGTON — The Washington volleyball team defeated Shakamak in three consecutive games (25-12, 25-15, 25-13) Monday at the Hatchet House.

The Hatchets got nine kills each from Paige Hawthorne and Rachel Chattin, five digs from Araina Fidler, 22 assists from Amber Taylor and five aces from Rachel Chattin.

Cardinals still unbeaten

 SPENCER –– Class A No. 8 Washington Catholic increased its unbeaten streak to 12 games with a 5-0 soccer win at Owen Valley Monday.

The Cardinals (11-0-1) got two goals from Blaine Fuhs and one goal a piece from Brantley Smith and Zach Williams. Christian Neace also scored a goal and assisted on two others.

Barr-Reeve tops Alices in 3

VINCENNES —Class A No. 2 Barr-Reeve defeated Vincennes Lincoln, 25-11,25-14, 25-11, in volleyball Monday.

The Vikings (19-2), were paced by 18 assists and 15 service points by Cori Cummings. Hannah Bullock added 12 service points and 11 kills, Jenna Knepp 16 assists and 11 digs, Tanisha Graber 13 digs and Tiara Kenney 12 kills.

Barr-Reeve (15-2) won the junior varsity match, 25-15, 25-17.

Barr-Reeve wins 3 at Wood

OAKLAND CITY — Barr-Reeve won all three of its volleyball matches at the Wood Memorial Invitational Saturday, including a three-set match with Class A honorable mention Tecumseh.

The Vikings defeated the Braves in the opening match, 25-18, 16-25, 15-9.

 Jenna Knepp had 12 assists for the Vikings. Tanisha Graber had 11 digs, Hannah Bullock seven kills and Hania Sisco six.

Barr-Reeve then topped host Wood Memorial, 25-12, 25-9.

Graber had 11 service points, Knepp eight assists and Sisco five kills.

Barr-Reeve defeated Evansville Harrison, 25-20, 25-22.

Knepp had 10 assists and seven points. Bullock had 11 digs and eight points and Tiara Kenney six kills.

Vikings win 3 at Loogootee

LOOGOOTEE — Barr-Reeve won all three matches it played Saturday in the Loogootee junior varsity volleyball tournament.

Barr-Reeve defeated Springs Valley, 25-21 and 25-19. The Vikings topped Loogootee, 9-25, 25-12, 15-8, and Washington, 25-17, 25-21.

Barr-Reeve stays undefeated

JASPER–– The Barr-Reeve eighth grade volleyball team defeated North Davies 25-16, 25-15 Monday. Their leading server was Leah Bullock with 12. The seventh grade also defeated the Cougars 25-20, 25-13. Bailey Graber led the Vikings in serves with 17. The victories improved the record for both teams to 10-0.

The Vikings eighth grade volleyball team defeated Springs Valley (25-11, 25-13) and Jasper (25-16, 25-16), Saturday at the Jasper Invitational. The Vikings’ top servers were Leah Bullock and Hannah Graber with 23 and 22 respectively. The seventh grade also beat Springs Valley (25-16, 25-6) and Jasper (25-7, 25-15). The Vikings top server was Natalie Schuthies with 27.

Cardinals tie, drop decision

BOONVILLE — The Washington Catholic Middle School boys and girls soccer teams finished with a tie and a loss Monday.

The girls tied 2-2 with Boonville. Christina Smith added a goal and Avery Sullivan scored her first goal of the season to stake the Cardinals (2-1-4) to a 2-1 lead, before thre Cardinals surrendered the tying goal in the final minute of regulation.

The boys lost, 4-0, to drop their record to 0-5.
