Young Loogootee man dies in Saturday accident

ALFORDSVILLE —

A Loogootee man died Saturday evening in a one-vehicle accident near Alfordsville.

Nathaniel Schuetz, 19, of Loogootee, died at 7:35 in a one-car in Martin County on 650S, .4 miles east of CR 1300, near Alfordsville.

Martin County Sheriff¹s Department received a call a 911 of an accident involving a 2005 Toyota with four passengers in it. Colton Davis, 19, Corbin Wildman, 20 and Dirk Fahey, 18, all of Loogootee, were all able to exit the vehicle, however, Schuetz was trapped inside.

Martin Couny sheriff deputies, Dubois County sheriff's deputies, Indiana State Police, Haysville Fire, and EMS units from Dubois and Martin County all responded to the accident, along with Air Evac, which set up a landing zone.

Schuetz was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:40 p.m. by deputy coroner Mike Strawn.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident, but the accident is still under investigation by Martin County.

    Lucille Nolley Dillon, 76, died at 3:02 p.m. Saturday at Select Hospital in Evansville after a brief illness.
    Born Sept. 30, 1935, in Daviess, she was the daughter of Arlan V. and Essie (Hardesty) Nolley. She graduated from Montgomery High School in 1953 and retired as a bookkeeper from McDonald Chevrolet in Washington after 43 years of service.
