Hatchets win opener at Hoosier Cup

BLOOMINGTON — Cullen Arnold scored at the 23-minute mark of the opening half as Washington won its opening-round match of the boys Hoosier Cup Friday.

Arnold scored on an assist from Carson Smith as the Hatchets improved to 3-1-2 with the win.

Washington played a good defensive game, allowing only shot by the Panthers for goalkeeper Nick Gray to stop.

The Hatchets now play today against East Central at 9 a.m. before meeting Ryle, Ky., at 2:30 p.m.
