Petersburg couple sentenced

Police Report

PETERSBURG — Connie Craig, 34, and Russell Whiteside, 40, both of Petersburg, pleaded guilty Thursday in Pike County Circuit Court to dissemination of matter harmful to minors, a Class D felony.

In the proceeding, Craig and Whiteside admitted that during the summer of 2012 they engaged in lewd sexual acts in a location where two minor children could see or hear their activities.

Pursuant to the terms of the plea agreement, each defendant received a sentence of 545 days with credit for 70 days at the Pike County Jail and the remainder suspended to probation. They also will be required to perform community service. The plea agreement provides Craig and Whiteside each the right to ask the court to reduce the charge to a Class A misdemeanor if they successfully complete all terms of their probation.

CITY REPORT

Wednesday

8:34 p.m. - The fire department received a call about a fire at 900 S. Meridian St., Bldg. 5, and responded. It was a stovetop fire and had been extinguished by the time firefighters arrived. The scene was cleared at 8:46 p.m.

8:30 p.m.  -- Kyle Kohlman, 612 Center St., advised there was a prowler at his residence who was hiding in the bushes across the street.

7:10 p.m. = An off-duty Walmart security employee advised she observed three males push two TVs and a computer out and load them into a vehicle.

She gave the license plate number to the dispatcher. The vehicle came back to a person from Vincennes, so Knox County SheriffÕs deputies were assisting with the case.

3:04 p.m. - A female caller reported she was stuck in the Superwash Car Wash on SR 57S. She advised the doors would not go up and there was no attendant to help her. She was advised there was a button by the door that should open it. She advised she couldnÕt findit , but when officers arrived, she was out.

6:37 p.m. - A caller reported a two-car accident with no injuries on E. National Hwy. An accident report was completed.

7:54 a.m. - A caller reported a car vs. deer accident on SR 257 near CR 650S. A kill permit was issued.
